Honoring the Few Who Flew

On July 24, 1961, five Freedom Riders and a guest left Montgomery's airport on an integrated flight to Jackson, Miss., where nearly all of them would be arrested. This flight would change the course of history and air travel for all Americans.

The Friends of the Freedom Rides Museum, with the Montgomery Regional Airport, are commissioning a new art exhibit at the Airport, so that every traveler who passes through encounters the courage of the Few Who Flew.
